Henry Hohauser was a prominant architect in the Miami Beach art deco area. He arrived in 1932 after graduating from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. Over the course of his career, Hohauser designed over 300 buildings throughout South Beach, many now protected my the Miami Art Deco Preservation Society's efforts, particularly the late Barbara Capitman, since the mid 1980s.
Some of his hotel works include the Colony, Park Central, Crescent, Cordoza and the Essex House.
